LOOK at what's being offered in accubonds...
277 140g
284 160 classic HIGH SD round
308 200 classic HIGH SD round
338 225 classic HIGH SD round
375 260 only .375 plastic tip available

Other than the .270, the BTs of these weights or heavier are NO LONGER LISTED AS BEING MADE BY NOSLER

So, IMNSHO, nosler has woke up and said
"you know, the guns that can push the high SD bullets should have a better bullet... and we'll stop making the BT's that compeat with them"

what ya think? Could, in 3-5 years, nosler will only be making BT's for varmits?

accubonds are also made in 140gr-7mm and 180gr-.308" and the ballistic tips in these sizes have not been discontinued.

In the last 5 years I have been reloading BT's, they have NEVER listed in their catalog a .284 BT heavier than 150, a .308 heavier then 180, or a .338 heavier then 200.

This illustrates more than anything else the intended usage of the 2 types of bullets.

BT's in light to medium hunting weights for deer and under, AB's in heavy for caliber bullets for large game (elk, moose, bear). Each has its niche, neither will eliminate the other. Heck, Nosler has restarted making the old solid base (pre BT) bullet, which is the BT with a lead nose. Check out Federal for factory loadings, as it is only available as seconds for reloaders. The SB covers the same range of game as the BT, and it has the potential to reduce the sales of the BT.

I second that CDH, Nosler never made NBTs in the weights jeff has mentioned.

The accubonds are probably going to be great but, they are not going to replace the BTs. Each of these bullets has its own application.

the 375 260 was a bt..

i listed ALL the accubonds per the nosler website... all of them...
180s 308? nosler isn't listing that as an accubond

They are making the .308/180 AB for Federal right now. They can be had as seconds only. Apparently Nosler is in bed with both Winchester and Federal, though with differnet parts of their product line. As far as having .308/180 BT and AB in their line, so there is some crossover, so what? They make Partitions in .308 down to 150gr.

I never said never, I said since I started reloading BTs, but if you have info to the contrary, we are listening...

I'm sure they have tried making a few in many sizes that either never came to market or like the .375, didn't make it in the market, but that doesn't change their intended usage.

The 180 grain accubonds can be found in many places now. I bought three boxes at my local gun store 6 weeks ago. A buddy of mine has been buying his from Cabela's.

As far a phase out. I don't think so.
