Hornady 458 lott dies leave a "ghost shoulder" on the brass when you full lenght resize. It makes the cases look wasp- waisted. If you don't want that I suggest you use a Hornady 458 win mag die set to load from or another brand of 458 lott dies.

The Accurate powders show the most promise.

The 458 Lott is a good cartridge. It came about due to J. Lott and his close calls with buffalo.
Also, the 458 Winchester factory cartridges years back with 510 gr bullets were having trouble getting to 2000 fps. An honest 2200-2300 is manageable and effective in the 458 Lott.

I had very good accuracy with 73.1g of 4064 and 500 grain TSX bullets, FWIW. But I had the rounds seated very long, and had to single load (crimping cannelure was set up for .458 WinMag). Barnes said I should cut down the brass to .458 WinMag length.

I tried the Hornady 500g Round Nose bullets with 4320. Not great accuracy.
