Hey one holer!
SmilerI reworked the trigger on the M77 and got it to 3/4 LBS. Made up some sand bags and shot at the range yesterday. I moved up to 50 yards which I had shot from before and was getting 2" to 3" groups at times. Dong away with that &^%^&^$$ rifle rest and working over the trigger move all groups below 1" and some at .486. Now I can finaly get to work on a good 100 yard load! The stock seems to be doing ok but I am still going to change to a good wooden one.

Glad you got your ruger to shooting.Did you use springs to get the weight down?
Seems like I mentioned triger weight to you back in Aug.

So is that 3 to 4 lbs (bit heavy) or 3/4 of one Lb (bit light.)

Smiler3/4 of an LB. Trigger pull is just right! Some varmint triggers are set at a few ounces. Look on the Gun Smithing section on how to smooth out a M77 trigger. Worked great and no you don't mess with the spring at all. I changed some Remington springs in the past and they worked real good. I tested this one real good with the safty off and bumped it real hard and it didn't go off. Now I guess the next thing is to try to figure out what load to start with as I was having so much trouble before and never did get a good group to work from. But am narrowing it down some.
