Northfork Seating Depth
Any recommendations for a good starting distance off the lands? I'm loading some 150 gr SS in a 270 win for a friend.

I was going to start with .020"

Should I start with more?

Just got a reply from Franz at NF. He recommended .050" as a starting point. Hope that helps some other folks as well!

050 is always a good starting place and for hunting rifles it always seems to work right there..hunting rifles shouldn't be picky about bullet seating depths. at least mine don't. The only difference I have found over the years is silly millimeters so I don't mess with seating depth...If I were match shooting I would go the the extra trouble. all my guns shoot an inch with most loads for 3 shots and that suits me just fine.
