86thecatTo get tracers to light there are higher burning temp powders specifically used by the military. Tracers are normally slightly longer than the same weight FMJ due to the light combustible compounds in the tail so be careful with max powder charges. I have only reloaded 30 cal tracers and H4895 usually lights them up fine, but tracers are designed to begin tracing 75 plus yards down range.

DIXIEDOGI've had good luck with my 5.56 tracers lighting using H335 and WC844.

BlacktailerFWIW tracers ricochet a lot. When they get to the target, only the jacket and a little fuel is usually left so make sure you have an extremely good backstop.
