Another Question on 308
I screwed up and bought a case of magnum primers the other day. What is the difference, and is it possible to use them if I cut back the powder charge? As they can't be returned. I really don't wanna waste them either. Thanks again for the help!

Start with starting loads and slower powders they will be fine.

Ball powder and starting loads will love the magnum primers. Primer Mysteries and Misconceptions link

Cut one grain from book max once you have worked up a load...Starting from scratch regardless of primers, start two grains below book max and work up..For a beginner shoot starting loads for awhile then go up as you learn the process of pressure indicators and working to max loads...100 FPS makes no difference to any animal shot.
