alaskadudeRe: got a load for the new .300 ultra
mr. big
i have a 26 in barrel on it.
big country
im not the most knowledgable person on reloading but this is what i did. i contacted alliant and they have no specs on the tbbc, and speer had none on the tbbc either. so i looked at a few similar build bullets and went with it. i started at 92 grains and worked up. at those speeds though it was no better than my 300 winnie, no signs of anything goofy. one sheet said that 96.8 was max. for a similar bullet. you have me a little concerned with your comment about watch out in warm weather, as it was about 25 when i was shooting. this set up may very well be exposed to some hot situations on the dark continent. has anyone else found a problem with this load? or see a concern?

bigcountryHoly cow, I can't believe you was able to get up to 96gr of RL25. At 92gr RL25, it locked the brass up in my chamber with 180gr TBBC. These are older TBBC, maybe with older copper, but I am shocked. Be careful shooting those in warm whether. Any other bullet should be fine at 96gr except barnes, Scirrocos, and TBBC.
