MikeDPowder Suggestion for 50 Alaskan
I have been using some Reloader 7 for some 50 Alaskan loads. My supply is slowly drying up. Local supplies are not plentiful. Have been wanting to try a slightly faster powder for this fairly large straight wall case. Any suggestions.
1)Was wondering how AA2015 might do in this case?
2)Would AA1680 be too fast?
3)Any experience or suggestions using the Vihtavouri powders N120,N130, N133, etc.?
4)Any other suggestions.

ramrod340Mike I have no clue. Never saw one much less loaded for one. Just for your info here is QL powders listed by velocity. Using 46,000 and 105% capacity as the cut off. Your 1680 actually forcasts higher than the RL7
Cartridge : .50 Alaskan
Bullet : .510, 570, Hornady DGS 5150
Useable Case Capaci: 27.278 grain H2O = 1.771 cm³
Cartridge O.A.L. L6: 2.300 inch = 58.42 mm
Barrel Length : 24.0 inch = 609.6 mm
Predicted Data for Indicated Charges of the Following Powders.
Matching Maximum Pressure: 46000 psi, or 317 MPa
or a maximum loading ratio or filling of 105 %
