mikolooking for a load for my Browning A-bolt .300 win mag
I'm starting to load for my Browning a-bolt .300 win mag and looking for a starting point using 180 grain nosler partition or Hornady bullet of equal performance.

TEANCUMOur family has a bunch of 300 Win Mags and we all run the same load, as I do all the reloading.
77.5 Grains of H4831, a Nosler 180grain BT, with a CCI BR primer. This load runs about 3050-3100 fps depending on the rifle used.

kacolei've got a Browning a-bolt in a 300 win mag and it loves 76gr. of reloader 22 with a nosler 180 BT. I don't know the exact length but it's loaded to the full mag box. Hope this helps
I switched from:
180gr Hornady BTSP
75gr H4831SC
CCI 250
(2 bulls/1 cow elk killed with this round this year - I shot one bull and buddies shot the rest)
To:
180gr Barnes TTSX
73gr H4831SC
CCI 250
(Grouped 2 sets of 3 shot groups 1/2 MOA last weekend with this round).

That's the same load I use in my M-700, except I shoot Nosler Partitions. Chronos right at 3,000 fps
