hillbillybearBLUE RIBBON LOADS FOR THE 300 REMINGTON ULTRA MAGNUM
Hi Folks,
While I'm waiting for the gunsmith to finish muzzlebraking and trigger jobbing(2.5lb pull weight) my new Model 70, I am going to start my load development.
I have the following components on hand:
Powders: IMR 4350
IMR 4831
Reloder 22
Reloder 25
Bullets: Hornady#30302 150 grain SST
Sierra #2145 165 grain BTSP
Combined Technology #51160 168 grain Ballistic Silvertip
Nosler # 30180 180 grain Ballistic Tip
Cases: 100 new Remington .300 RUM
Primers: Federal 215 Match
Federal 210 Match
Winchester WLR Magnum
The final load will be used on whitetails (some upwards of 200-225lbs liveweight), feral hogs and any particularly unlucky coyotes, groundhogs, bobcats, crows, and skunks at ranges from 40 yards to 500 yards.
Anybody have a blue ribbon load sitting around the old reloading room?
Also, in your experience, has the .300 RUM proved to be finicky and pressure sensitive or is it pretty much a straight forward loading proposition.
Thanks for the Input
Good Shooting,
HBB

Seem's i have a lot of homework to do before moose hunt.(less than 6 wk's) won't even discuss group's on the reload's, it seem's this gun just love's those 200 gr bullet's. groups were just over 1". C.O.L. was set at 3.6" (by manual) going to try 3.680 next. still leave 's a mile to land's. OH, well.
