ted thornSimple bullet pulling video
I put this together today.....so simple even I can pull it off....out
On old or crimped rounds seat bullets .050 or .060ish deeper to break the grip the case has on the bullet
Remove seater die
Raise the press ram to just expose the case/bullet union point
Grip the bullet with sharp side cutters at the top of the case mouth
Lower ram while still gripping the bullet
As the side cutters come in contact with the press you pull the case away from it
Dump out the powder and put the bullet in a bin...repeat

MickinColoSide cutters, end cutters, and horse hoof trimmers have been used for bullet pulling for years. The only possible problem is the deforming cuts or crimps into the bullet.

AtkinsonI think I would just as soon use a bullet puller, its not an expensive item and it doesn't scar bullets if preformed properly. I have a full set of Fosters that I bought as a yard sale some 50 or so years ago..actually a set and a half, for $10.00. Saw a complete set with all the collets for sale at our gunshow a week ago for $25.00. and the guy sold them to a gent for $20.00
