<Okie Newton>Question? Same load two rifles
I have a Remington 700 Classic in 300 wby. I have a brand new Remington 700 Sendero in 300 Weatherby also that has never been shot. What are the chances my new rifle will like the same loads that the classic does? BTW The bullet I like is the 180 grain Nosler. Since I am not at the bench I think the powder is 4831, I am sure it is 80 grains. Sure would be nice if it would work. On a good day I can clover leaf the bulls eye at 100 yards so it is an accurate load. Any thoughts?

<eldeguello>Yeah. My thought is that there's no way you can accurately guess if both rifles will like the same load, unless you have a crystal ball, and are good with it!! You'll have to test both guns to find the answer to this question.

GeorgeSIt's possible, but not likely. There are too many variables involved in manufacturing and assembly to think that two rifles manufactured days or even years apart would shoot the same load well.
However, you might as well try it. It just might work out for you.

krakymy guess is........YES. That is a pretty well known accuracy load. It's not real "hot" for speed but I predict it will be a good shooter in the other rifle too. (Although today is friday and I'm hiped for the weekend--could be the source of my positive attitude!)

R FlowersYou just do not know till you try it.
I agree that is an accurate load and works fine in my Remington 700 Classic as well. But will it work in the Weatherby, who knows?
I can tell you, I have two identical Remington 700VS rifles chambered for 22-250. They do not perform well at all with the same loads. They each have distinct preferences. One shoots best with Fed 210M primers, the other with a Winchester WLR. Go figure.
But hey, you might just get lucky.

downwindtracker2I have played that song to a 30.06 tune.It sang sweet for me,but MOA is sweet enough for me.I checked throat length,shot it.An '80 M-700 and a '64 M-70.good luck with yours.

<Don Martin29>A good load in one rifle has a very good chance of doing well in another.
Be carefull with the FL sizing when you reload. I got mixed up with my 30/06's ammo years ago and chambered a round sized for another rifle in a M-70 push feed. The round got stuck in the tighter chamber so I closed the bolt and fired it as this loosens them up. The problem was that the effort to initally open the bolt broke the push feeds extractor!
