snowman270 WSM and 110 gr TTSX Bullets
Has anyone out there used the 110 gr TTSX bullet in their 270 WSM ? Was considering trying this on an antelope this fall if I can draw a license. What powders have worked for you ? If I can't get this combo to shoot I will have to drag out my old 257 Wby again. Decisions, decisions.

phurley5If i were using one of my four .270 WSM's for Antelope my bullet of choice would be the 130 grain Northfork. I get 3450 fps out of that bullet, all other 130 grain bullets are 100 fps slower and i have tried them all. Good shooting.

SnellstromMy brother used the 110 TTSX on Antelope in his 270 WSM a few times, however his were factory Federal (I think?) ammunition.
I don't remember the velocity but they were screaming fast, ultra flat shooting.
One doe antelope was closer than he thought so he hit her high in the shoulder and the result was explosive!
Sorry I have no load info for you but factory ammo was very effective and very accurate in his rifle

FjoldI shoot the 110 grain Barnes TTSX out of my 270 Win at 3337 fps. I shot an antelope at 387 yards with it last September. It worked fine but it's the only thing that I've shot with that load so a sample size of one isn't worth much.

QuintusI used the 110 TTSX in a .270 Wby for years and it is hell on deer and VERY fast. In this case flight time beats the hell out of BC for wind deflection to 400 yards. 3800Fps from the Roy and there isn't much time to drop or blow off course. Never saw anything typical TSX exits from everything but one big Mule buck. That was bad angle broken shoulder that took a follow up after following him to his bed. Most everything else was bang flop. I believe the Barnes book has data for the short and 110s.
