257 Roberts5.7 Johnson
Anybody play with a 5.7 Johnson M1 Carbine before? Have an opportunity at one, but need to do a little research first.
Reloading dies, cant find much. Redding and maybe CH4D. Anybody know of anything else? Looks like special order?
40 grain bullets appear to be bullet of choice, but 50 grains look like they will work too.
What about forming brass from 30M1, can it be done straight up with a FL die, or is the intermediate forming die a requirement? Again, looks kind of like hens teeth trying to find a form die.
Interesting little gun and piece of history. I like odd stuff, but maybe not this odd.
Anxious to hear some discussion.

rcraigOne of the guys in my gun club has one. Suffice to say, it was/is somewhat problematic. Good luck.

richjBuddy has one bbl and receiver were put together. Seems to be differences between 5.7 Johnson and Spitfire.
He played with the feed ramp to get it to work.
Cases were 5.7 Basic, he didn't know basic meant straight walled!!!
I'll get more info.
Stock was from ?? Custom Irons custom scope mount

RapidrobI have reloaded and shot hundreds and hundreds of rounds out of my two .22 Spitfire carbines in the last 30 years.
Please contact me for details on reloading and firing these carbines.
There are several do's and don't s you must follow or you can get seriously injured or damage you carbine.
This is a high pressure cartridge unlike the .30 Carbine round.
