beemanbemeRe: 7x57 velocity
You don't Chrony a 7x57. You merely work up to max and then back off a bit and kill a lot of stuff. The 154gr RN bullet is an awesome bullet. Out to 250-300 yards.

284LUVRForgot to mention in my last post that my 7x57 has a 20" barrel and was wondering what velocity to expect.I plan to start out with the 154gr. Hornady RN and try both of the 4350s
Any other info will be welcomed. Thanks guys.

Savage99Velocities vary quite a bit from rifle to rifle and authority to authority. It seems that my velocities are never the highest.
Take 20 fps per inch of barrel as a quide and look up the specifics in various manuals.

7x57mm284LUVR: You should be able to hit 2,800 fps with the 154 round nose hornady and 4350. My absolute favorite powder for this round is H414. It meters a whole lot better than IMR or H4350. I have a CZ 550 American with a 23.5 inch barrel and with a 162 grain Hornady SST and H414 I get chronographed 2,835 fps and that puppy shoots them into a tiny cloverleaf that is less than a half inch at 100 yards. Out at 300 yards and from a sandbag rest my groups are less than 2 inches! What brand of rifle do you own! What is your reasoning behind going with the 154 grain round nose? Regardless, have a nice day! 7x57mm (Tom Purdom)
