Bflo. Tom25-06 and 6mm Remington
I have a Ruger #1 in 25-06, 24" barrel,1-10 twist and a Remington 700 VLS6mm Rem.26" barrel 1-9 twist.Which bullet and weight for 100-200 yard target shooting for accuracy should I try? Thanks for the info.

BushchookTry the 80 gn Berger match with H4350 in the 6mm . 45.5 gns works very well in my .243 AI but is maximum at just over 3400 FPS so work up from below . Your 6mm should produce similar velocity and hopefully accuracy .

R FlowersFor the usage you describe, that being target shooting, I would have to recommend you try the Sierra Matchking bullets.
In the 6mm Remington try the 70 grain HPBT Matchking #1505. In my custom 6mm Remington these produce amazingly small groups when loaded over IMR 4831 or H 4350 and a Federal 210M primer.
For the 25-06 try the 100 grain HPBT Matchking #1628. I would again recommend IMR 4831 and a Federal 210M primer.
I would NOT recommend using either of these bullets for varminting or deer. Both are extremely accurate, but inconsistant in their expansion properties.
Hope this helps, R F

R FlowersSteve, I agree completely with the use of the 85 grain HPBT and the 120 grain HPBT for hunting. They are great bullets. The 120 HPBT in my 25-06 knocks the heck out of hogs.
But, the 70 grain 6mm and 100 grain .257 Matchkings are lousy for shooting anything but paper. I tried them on squirrels and prairie dogs and their performance was erratic to say the least!!!!
