Thanks to all who pointed me in the right direction to find components.

Now I need some load data. I don't seem to have access to a lot of the older manuals which might have this cartridge.

Had one load w/ VV n110, but that powder is $44 a POUND!!!

I'll be loading .318 spire points (jacketted) in new brass - presume standard primers will be OK.

Need some starting loads with currently available powders.

I'll gladly share my results in later posts.

My Third edition of Philip Sharpe's handloading book suggests starting with cast bullets of 174/180 grains and using 13 grains of IMR 4759. He suggests that if your rifle is a later Mauser style target rifle, with a barrel for smokeless powder, you may then extrapolate to IMR 4198 and IMR 3031 and jacketed bullets. Slug the bore and chamber first for physical data. ned

However, I'm limited as to my bullet inventory and other supplies. I really need a load for the .318 150gr spire point.

I've got $200 into this project, and still haven't loaded a shell!!! Good thing I'm doing this for a friend.

Appreciate everyone's help so far, but I need to complete this formula:

(.318 150gr sp) + (RWS case 8.15 x 46Rmm) + (____gr of _________ powder) + (standard rifle primer) = complete bullet.

Please fill in the blanks.

try going to a powder comparison chart & see which available powders are the closest to W n110 (I've never used it)
