<JohanW>Case weight for .270 Win.
I need some help on weighing cases for my .270 Win. After weighing 20 cases from the same lot(After sizing and trimming and without primers) the weight varied from 191.5Gr to 203GR. What is an acceptable variation and is there a standard weight to use as a guideline.
Thanks

<Mads>Johan - I don't know the exsact answers to you question.
But for what it's worth - I think that sound like a very big variation! Its more than 5%
What brand of brass do you use? I know that their can be very big differences between brands - but I have never noticed anything that significant inside a brand - and then the same lot
As I see it those brass can't be used for reliable reloading, because what might be a sound load in a brass weighting 192 grains might be with to height preasure in the 203 grains brass.
The weight difference most be equal to the variation in the powder space inside the brass.

<JohanW>Mads,
I also thought that the variation is too big. The cases I weighed were all P.M.P. I also have some Sako and PMC cases, but have not weighed them yet. I get the feeling that I am going to have to scrap the PMP cases.
