9.3 X 62 brass
Can I make this by resizing .35 Whelen brass?

Vapodog... Graf&Son has 0.3x62 brass (Graf Brand) for sale at $33.99 per 100 and there is no hassel with resizing. Tom Purdom

I've formed 9.3x62 from 30-06 and I've read that it can be made from .35 Whelan. It's not a problem to make and I've shot it up to five times. That proves that I'll always be able to shoot my 9.3x62.

But I've also loaded with the Graf brand brass and IMHO it's the way to go.

I have been making it from .35 Whelan, but after I use it up I will probably just buy it from Graff also. The way I form it is to expand the .35 brass in steps by running it over a .375 sizer and then a .416 sizer. Then I run it into the 9.3 x 62 die just far enough that it will chamber with a little resistance. That creates a temporary shoulder for headspacing so the cases don't strech at the web. I fireform with a moderate load of IMR-4064 and a 270 gr. Speer bullet. I haven't worn any of the brass out yet. With this much work in forming the cases, I will quit doing it now that Graff sells the brass.

Not a problem at all...The only downside with using Whelen or any 06 base case is you do lose some powder capacity as opposed to using 9.3 brass, thus a little velocity is forfieted.....
