Is it possible to get more velocity with less powder. I was looking back over some old notes and they show I was getting more velocity with 2 gr less RL 22 than the 75.5 I have been loading in my 300 win. Is that possible or is my chrono taking a shit? Thanks

old notes = time has passed = powder may have changed. 2 gr. out of 75 gr. is less than 2%. well within possible.

Same rifle? maybe the barrel is getting a little long in the tooth.

Probably 300 rounds since then. Barrel is grouping well, I was just looking at the history and thought if I got the same or better velocity with less powder, I would. I will load a few uo and give it a whirl. Thanks
