Surplus bulk IMR4895 with a burn rate of H322, 48 gr 220 Sierra p/n2420, 29" barrel, 2600-2625 fps

47 gr 2550 fps

My 24" 300WM only does 3000 fps with 180 gr.
Everybody talks about the 8mm being 30-06 class, but with a 29" barrel the 8mm loaded hot is in the 24" 300 Win Mag class.

Bulk 4895, not powder blended into a specified canister grade burn rate.

Bulk powder requires a work up by the military for that lot. The lot I got was much faster than cannister IMR4895. It has the extrusion dimensions of 4895, but plugging H322 [a faster powder] into Quickload gives the velocities that correspond with the chronograph results.

8mm is a small case and a wide bullet. You want a fast powder.

4350 is a good powder for 270, with a large case and narrow bullet.
