7828 ssc question
I use 7828ssc with great success in my 340 wby with 200gr noslers.Thoughts on using it in 375 rum and 375 ruger with 270 grains heads? What about a 358 sta with 225 heads? Maybe a 35 whelen or 300 h&h? Thanks, Optik1

It is my go-to powder in my .300 H&H with 180 grain bullets. I load it to about 2950 fps, but trials show that it will exceed 3000 in my rifle without strain.

It would be somewhat too slow in .35 Whelen for optimal results. I have no experience using it in the other cartridges you mention, but there would be some possibilities.

In my experience about 3% more IMR7828SSC will duplicate velocities using H4831. Ergo, if H4831 works for you in a given load then try about 3% more IMR7828SSC.

Powder room usually isn't an issue since the SSC version of 7828 sits more densely in the case and you can usually get about 5% more of it (by weight) into a given space than powders with sticks of conventional length.

Thats what Id be using if I could find any!! I used it at 3020 fps until I ran out..In my 26" pre 64 I got 2900 plus with a 200 gr. Nosler. Fortunately I have a ton of old H4831
