Magnum Hunter1So......
Sellier & Bellot 22 Hornet brass has undersized flash holes. Who knew?
Just laid out 80 to resize and the decapping pin got stuck in the flash hole. Thought it might be a fluke so tried once more. Same thing. Checked the decapping pin in some Winchester brass and it had plenty of room. Now I've got 80 pieces of brass I cannot decap with my Hornet dies.

eagle27Some reloaders drill or ream the flash holes in their brass as a matter of course to get uniformity for accuracy, no big deal. Your Hornet cases are fine just need a bit of TLC with a drill.

sambarman338As Lamar says, a smaller pin should work. It doesn't even need to be part of the sesizing die but something like you find in old Lee Loader-type kits. If you can't find one of those, you could turn down the end of a piece of steel.

Reloader270Primer pockets and flash holes in Sellier & Ballot cases are usually undersized. You can use a flash hole uniformer tool from Lyman or you should get a decapping rod which use the headed decapping pins. The headed decapping pins was engineered specifically to overcome the problem of the decapping pin to get stuck in the flash hole.
I had similar problem when I reloaded some 303Br S&B brass for my brother. CCI and Federal all were crushed due the undersize primer pocket. The Lyman primer pocket reamer also did not help enough. Solution was to use Remington primers. They still use copper cups and that seems to work or perhaps their diameter is just smaller than the other brands. I did not have S&B primers to see what they were doing.

richjAt least on Large pistol S&B primers are oversized.
