drewhenrytnt215 primers too much for short mag cases?
I have lots of Federal 215 primers, but few large rifle standard primers. Are the 215 primers too much for cases like 350Rem, 300WSM, or 325WSM?

DoglegI use 215ms for everything bigger than a 30-06 case. In the WSMs that's only been the .270 and 300.
Every manual I remember uses magnum primers on the WSMs.

Sean RussellNosler, hodgens and Sierra manuals that I have all call for magnum primers for my 270 WSM. as well as all of Michael458's B&M loads.

DoublessI have loaded for both the 270 and 300 WSMs, and used 215s in both.

drewhenrytntI'll be loading the newest CEB .358 150gr Brass Raptor and the 160gr Copper Raptor in 350 Remington Magnum.
215 it is then. Now to figure out where to start. I have TAC, Benchmark, H335, H322, AA2230, AA2460.
Dan told me to use a powder a step or two faster than normal.
I can't wait to see how fast I can send these while maintaining good accuracy!

steve4102There is no such thing as "to much primer".
There is such a thing as to much powder.
If you use Mag primers or Standard primers the same rules apply, Start Low and Work Up.
I have used 215M in my 7.62 x 39, I need to adjust the powder charge accordingly.

AtkinsonI have used both 210s and 215s in belted magnum cases and can't tell any difference except you must use less powder with 215s with max loads as a rule...
Basically I use 215s in magnum belted cases and 210 in non magnum non belted cases for the most part.
The exceptions would be in double rifles I use 215s and in non belted cases like the 404 and 416 Rigby I would use 215s...
