richjThumbler with liquid
I see they make one for SS media (liquid). Would you used the rubberband sealed unit with liquid.
This has got to be 40 years old.
I use both the Model B and Model AR-12. the AR-12 uses the rubber seal with hose clamp. Never had an issue. By design, these are meant to be used with liquid.

Lamarthe pin tumblers are just rock tumblers.
my first pin tumbler was/is an old sears rock tumbler hobby unit that holds like a quart at most.
I still have the little tins of rock polishing media, and the tumbler.
it mostly gets used with dry media now days, but it's still ticking along.

georgeldA late friend made up one to use a 5 gallon bucket wet.
Sure polished them fine.
I don't know what media he used with Dawn dish soap.
Might be he didn't use any, he ran 2-3 gallons of brass at a time. that many shouldn't need media too.

ArnietIf the electric motor is open, I would not use it. I don't like open A/C electric motors next to water.

RapidrobI've been using mine for the last 50 years with liquid with no issues. I've replaced the motor as well as the bearing for the drum support rollers over the decades. with the speed that the drum turns, getting liquid into the running motor is not an issue at all. I use my tumbler at least once a week to tumble fired brass and the results are always outstanding.
