I am a fan of interlocks in all my 308 rifles.

I don't use them, the 180 BTSP interloc shoots fine for me and I just shoot deer and stuff with it, so don't need a bonded bullet

For shooting deer with 30 caliber rifles, bonded bullets are superfluous, IMO. If your interlocks are providing adequate accuracy, go forth and slay deer!

You can never go wrong using a better bullet, but it isn't necessary for the task. I do believe that bonded offers a more accurate bullet because of it's construction.

They're accurate and they kill deer very dead.

Last year I switched to 130 gr. IBs in my 270. I had been using the 130 gr. Interloc. I use the same charge, get the same velocity and the bullets hit the same spot. I can shoot them interchangably and get a 3/4" group at 100 yds. I haven't shot anything big enough yet to tell if it is worth it, but I'm not complaining.

I started using the 165 gr IB two years ago while working up loads for a 300 WSM. Not only was it one of the most accurate hunting bullets I have ever used, but performance on hogs was outstanding. For most hogs, I try for a broadside shot to take out both lungs. On the 300 lb'ers the gristle plate is substantial. And shooting for the rear up the spine will separate many bullets.

I have had only one hog run after being hit with the IB. The others have dropped in their tracks. It was very common when using non-bonded bullets, that when lung-shot, the hogs would usually run 40 - 60 yds before expiring.

I was so impressed with the IB's that I now use them for other calibers.

I load the 139gr IB in my 7mm-08. I've only killed two deer with them. Both had 7mm entrance holes and nickle+ exit holes after hitting a shoulder on the first one and the spine on the second one. I have no complaints.

Maybe I haven't given the Hornady bullets a fair shot. For years I tried the 140 boat tail interloc in my 270 and with 4 powders and 2 primers, I couldn't get them to shoot in either of my rifles. Then, more recently, I shot over 200 SST bullets in 130 grain and the very best group was 1" and that was from 3 different rifles.

I'd say the only "success" I had was when I tried the 165 boat tail interloc in my brother's 300 SAUM. 3 occassions, 1/2" groups, 3 shot strings.

With all of the time I spent with them, I decided it was too much work to even try the interbond. I've never had a problem getting Noslers to group well with less than 20 bullets.

I didn;t have any luck w/ the 154grHIB in my 280 or my 7mm Dakota. Both rifles are sub moa w/ many diff. bullets, but I couldn't get the HIB to shoot better than 2MOA. Doubt I will try them again in any caliber. The Accubond is much more accurate across the calibers I have tried.
