What is a good load for hunting/bear protection for a S & W 629, 6 1/2" bbl., 44mag. I am using cast bullets 250 gr. FNSWC. I have read 25grs. of Win 296 for around 1400 fps. What say you?? I have new Starline brass, CCI LPM primers. Thanks for your time and input.

I shoot 23.5gr w297 (non-canister 296) behind a 240gr Nosler HP. It's plenty stiff and very consistant on paper. I haven't run it over the chrony yet, but will next time I get a chance.
