Enigma375H&H 270gr Barnes TSX.....
Hello dear friends,
I just received 2 boxes of Barnes 270gr .375 TSX and I am looking for some data for my 375H&H. Has anyone loaded such ammo in their guns yet? I am looking for a load at around 2800fps if that is possible. Thanks for helping.
P.S. If you had access to a chrony to verify your loads, that would help.
Cheers

mhoDon't know about the 2800 fps, but one of the standard powders for the .375 H&H is
RL15.

No, I havn't! I use IMR 4064 in my .375 H&H loads. If you find a good load for that bullet, tell us about it!!

El_DodexeWith 300 grs Barnes X FB I use 71 grs of Vit N140 (MAXIMUM LOAD with Barnes X BULLETS) Cases RWS primers Fed 215
Quite good Accuracy (1,5-2 MOA) and speed close to 2650 fps Vo, you've to clean your barrel frequently (as usual with solid copper bullets)
Same Point of impact with 70,5 grs of Vit N140 and Hornady FMJ RN 300 grs
I'll check the Barnes manual for the 270 grs and I'll let you know soon, may be in the after noon, cheers

jjsYou may wish to call Barnes..go to the Barnes web site where they publish 800 number. Speak with Ty, he is very helpful. Tell them you purchased some of the new TSX Bullets and request that they send you load data...
I used the 270 grain TSX in 375 H&H. Used H4895 I had a supply it is the powder I use in my Lott. I did achieve a nominal 2720 fps ...chornographed (which is published max velocity with standard "X") and very good accuracy. I also used Norma Brass, Federal 215 Match Primers ...
Not sure ..but RL15 may give more velocity...2800 fps may be hard to reach...but 2700+ is more than enough....Put down a Zebra with one shot 200+ yards with great penetration..
Work up you loads carefully...Good luck jjs

DougEI just recently purchased some 7mm 140 gr TSX's and emailed Barnes for some suggestions. They got back to me within a week with a PDF attached from their manual using the X bullet. They said you should be able to work up a load to be a few grains above their maximum X bullet load with the TSX's.

MFHI have had good luck using H414 with the 270gr XLC. Velocity is just about 2800.

Terry BlauwkampThe Barnes Manual shows 2800 with 75 IMR 4320, using the OLD X Bullets. You should be able to use that, or more, with the TSX, but start at 70 gr and work up from there. Always be careful.
They also show 2784 with 76 gr of Rel 15, so give them all a try.
Only your gun knows for sure.
