fredj338The Hornady tool will accept the larger RCBS style SH. I bought one for loading the .404j. It's comfortable & well made, much better than the Lee or RCBS IMO.

bobcAre you sure about the Hornady? I bought one to use for my 450-400 and the rcbs shell holder is too big to fit into the Horndady tool. Everything else, belted magnum and under fits fine. I'm back to priming from the press. Bob

fredj338Yse bobc, I am sure. I use mine w Redding & RCBS SH. There is s set of "guides" that come w/ the handtool. One is for use w/ RCBS/Redding sh.

bobcI may have bought the wrong Horndady hand tool then. My 450-400 rcbs shell holder is much larger in diameter than standard shell holders and won't fit in the body of the Hornady tool. I'll look at it again tonite and make sure I wasn't assembling wrong. Bob

EwinThere is an obsolete RCBS product, the Posi-Prime, a single step precursor to the later magazine-fed hand priming tools. It accepts my Snider and 24 ga. shotshell holders as well as the .50-70 and .348 large diameter shellholders. Haunt the gunshows.
