300 winchester reloads
I am buying a new Ruger # 1 in 300 Winchester and would really appreciate information on the best loads for the Sierra molly coated bullets I'm thinking of using. Please mention if the are max loads as I am reasonably new to reloading and want to be safety oriented but also get the best "bang" for my buck.
110 gr.
125 gr.
165 gr.
180 gr.
240 gr.

I live in Northern B.C. and the local gunny shop has Alliant and IMR powders available. I reload my 444 Marlin with 51 grains of reloder 7 on 240gr. plinking bullets and 47 grain on the hunting ones 265gr. and find it better then factory in both instances.

NOTE: all of the below is for naked bullets.
Just for safety I would start about 5grains or so below what I've got here, or double-check the manuals. None of these are absolute max, but that's my rifle.

I've had great success with AA3100:
72.6gr AA3100 & 180gr Sierra GameKing - 1MOA
70gr AA3100 & 168gr MatchKing - 1/2 MOA
73gr AA3100 & 125gr Nosler BallisticTip - 5/16" 3-shot group

New to RL-22:
66gr RL-22 & 220gr Nosler Partition - 5 shots in 1" and 3 into 1/2"

I have some 200gr Partition slated for testing, stepping up in 1gr increments, from 68-71gr of RL-22. That's for next weekend.

Good luck. I really love my WinMag.

I've had really good luck with RL19 and 180grXLC's in my 300 win mag.

Is RL25 a good powder for the 300WM???
I just bought a Sako 300 winney, and I have a bunch of RL25 I bought for my 300RUM.

I would only use RE25 for 200gr and up bullets.

For the .300 WM, my powder of choice from 165gr to 200gr is RE22, hands down.

Another RE22, I load 75.5, 180, and Fed215 primers. Nosler manual. Very accurate.

MINE likes 83.5gr. of H1000 and a sierra 180gr. SBT. THIS IS A LITTLE OVER MAX!

Huntaholic, that's the same load used in my Model 70.
