Crushed walnut cat litter
I have bought crushed walnut from the pet store in the past and it was good media. I recently bought some crushed walnut cat litter and it is useless. It clumps and is a pain to dig out. To make matters even worse, there was no picture of a cat on the bag so at least I would have gotten a target.

You sure you didn't get used media?

FYI: If you have a Harbor Freight store near you, they have 25 lb boxes of crushed Walnut, I saw 2 different sizes today. "Member" price was $15 for the 25 lbs, which is what this stuff is selling for in a l gallon jug at the gun shows. Might want to give them a look if you do much tumbling of brass. Or go in with some buddies on buying a box.

FYI: I was in Harbor Freight a bit ago (today) and they have 25 lb boxes of crushed walnut, coarse and fine, for$15 a box, if you're a "member", so might be a few $ more if you aren't. If you need to , can go in with a buddy on it, as that's a good bit of media. $15 what a gallon jug of it is running at the gun shows.

Yep, Harbor Freight is the place to go for tumbling media. I'm on my second 25 lb box.

Their tools are good, too -- after all, they must be in order to justify bringing them all the way from China! Big Grin

At the pet store get the crushed walnut from the lizard section (for bedding), it's the correct type as the litter is made for clumping.

You must remove the cat turds before using it though.

I buy it as "bird litter" from petsmart. Works great and cheap.
