338-06 and primer choice
Gents:

Could I use CCI 250 Magnum primers for reloading with the 338-06? It's all I have.

I would start off with a moderate load and do all the checks for pressure signs then proceed accordingly.

Try to look unimportant. Your enemy might be low on ammo.

You can, but not needed for any powder but maybe W748 or another ball powder. My rifle prefers CCIBR2, much smaller groups than any other primer. Once you find a load your rifle likes, it's worth substituting primers to see if it makes a diff. For a mg primer, you'll want to drop the charge wt. 1/2gr-1gr depending on powder.

You won't notice any difference. Some "magnum" primers have less "spark" than some "standard" primers.

Well it can make a huge diff in accuracy & some in pressure, again, depending on brand of primer & type/charge of powder.http://www.6mmbr.com/PrimerPix.html
