Jay GorskiAny good loads for 338 Win.?
Plan on going with 225 SST or Interbond, H4831sc the powder, how much do I need to start and end with for this powder and if you've got a better powder tell me please? Rifle is 700 Rem. Thanks for the help, Jay

djpaintlesI like 70-71grs of IMR-4350 with 225gr bullets. I use a long seated 225gr Accubond with 71.0grs of IMR-4350 in my Sako 75 and get excellent groups and have dropped 1 elk with the load. H4831 should work just fine too but IMR-4350 is my first choice in 338 Win Mag.............DJ

BigBulletJay,
I like H-4350 for 225 Nosler Accubonds and 250 gr Nosler partitions. H4831SC did not provide the level of accuracy or velocity that the H4350 did. And like djpaintles, I have found the 225 gr Accubonds to be very accurate. The best accuracy for my rifle (Ruger 77 magnum). For this catridge/rifle IMR-4350 is my second choice.
-load data is;
CCI-250 primer, 3.335" Col
RP cases
225 grain Accubond
70.0 gr H4350 = 2755 fps
72.0 grains = 2805 fps.
Good Luck,
BigBullet

fredj338Another RL19 or H4350 fan, also IMR4831. H4831sc is great when you get to the 250gr.

Bear in FairbanksJay:
Well, I can't resist sticking my 2 cents in on this one. I couldn't get the accuracy I wanted with either of the 4350 or 4831 powders so I went to Rldr-22. I was using 225 gr. Partitions but they have never been as consistant, accuracy wise as I like. I finally tried some 225 gr. Northforks and now get consistant 1" groups. My load is 70.5 grs. of Rldr-22 and the 225 gr. Northfork seated about 0.010" off the lands. As I recall, the Northforks cost about the same as a box of Partitions so....
I've always been a fan of using a premium bullet on game and think that bullet cost should be irrelevant. BTW, velocity is about 2825 - 2850 from the chrony.
Try some Northforks, I think you'll like 'em.
