7.62x39 with Heavy Bullets
I have a new Ruger Mini-30 Tactical that needs help. I am going to load up a Tubb's Final Finish kit and try and smooth out the bore. The bullets in the kit are Sierra 175gr Matchkings.

I could use help with load data for these heavy bullets. They do not need to be accurate, just safe. The instructions say to use the fastest powder listed in load data at a Min charge.

I have 1680, 322, IMR-4198, H-4198, R-7, 10X, N-200, N-120, N-130, 2015 and 748.

Thanks
Steve

good luck - my only good luck with getting a ruger mini to be accurate was a new barrel

All you have to do is bloop those bullets out of the muzzle.

Google "7.62x39 subsonic loads". There's pretty much info out there for them. I would avoid the light/low bulk charges of pistol powder.

It looks like Butch was luckier than I was.

(though I did not replace the barrel, but tried darn near everything else)

Here are some loads listed on Steve Riccardelli's page:

I have a Colt AR, 7.62 x 39 upper 16" which shoots 175 SMK's at 1850 ft/secs with VV 130, 23 grains. Being a .310 bore or so I would start at least 2 grains lighter in your rifle and for your purpose.
