25-35 win
Does anyone know if it's feasible to form 25-35 brass by necking down the 308? My dad has an old 25-35 that he wants me to load some ammo for him. I've found an RCBS 2piece die set, but haven't looked for brass yet. While looking for the dies online, I read about possibly necking down 308 brass, but the person writing it wasn't sure of the specifics. Thanks.

No...this will not work....but you might "get-er-done" necking down .30-30 brass.

Make sure you check the length of the case in the end.

Your right. It was 30-30 that I had read. Not 308.

I'd far rather see you get some virgin .25-35 brass from Midsouth or MidwayUSA or Graff's etc than neck down .30-30 but it's your decision.

The thing that I read also said that I would have to ream inside the neck or outside the neck. I've never done that, and I'm not sure how to determine if I need to do that or not. I might be better off just buying 25-35 brass online. I can't find any locally.

I think I posted the same time you did vapodog. I'll go ahead and buy the new brass. I just wanted to show off to my dad and say that I necked down 30-30 brass.
