cooterMoly coatings
Greetings, fellow shooters.
I know not everyone is in agreement on the use of moly coated bullets, and I confess that I've never paid attention to the discussions of the topic.
Yesterday, I stopped at the local store and they had a significant number of the bullets marked down in price. Included in this were several boxes of Hornady Vmaxs, moly coated. At a four dollar price difference per box, I decided to give them a try.
So now, I am looking for advice regarding loading, cleaning, etc. If you could offer some insight, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks,
Cooter

hivelosityclean your barrel good . make sure it has no copper fouling.
it will take from 10 to 50 rounds before the barrel has a coating of moly. adjust your loads at this point .
Clean sparingly , use a mix of 50% solvent and 50% kroil.
Wd40 will also work.
Do not remove all the moly from the bore.
1 wet patch, short stroke, dry patch 2 or 3 patches thats all i do.
I clean about every 50 to 100 shots depending on the accuracy. i have shot as many as 300 rounds with a 22/250 before cleaning and still had accuracy around moa.
