Hi i am wanting to purchase a Lee Pro 1000 i am new to reloading. I am going to order it from cabelas and i was wondering why it says to pick caliber. does this mean you get to pick out a caliber and then you get the dies for that caliber to start out with? also can i reload any shell in the Lee Pro 1000.
What all would i need to change calibers in the Lee Pro 1000 besides dies?

I have a Lee Pro 1000, but will not use it any more. It likes to skip powder charges, ignite primers (which ignites the entire primer tray, which is really exciting), and otherwise cause all manner of trouble.

You could have mine, but you would probably sue me after it blew a batch of primers in your face.

Incidentally, I don't recommend the 1000.

Get a Dillon. You will eventually; may as well start there.

Please use the "search" function on this forum to see what others had to say regarding the Lee Pro 1000, much has been written, most mirrors what KLN had to say!

Lee makes a few products that are worth having, a case mouth chamfering tool, a decapping tool for all reloading presses and that's about it.
I've never owned or used one of the Lee presses but I have looked at them in the store. They are junk!

hey,kyonic.you might want to save a little longer and get a rcbs 2000 progressive or dillon yes more money but well worth it imo.i bought the 2000 for my first reloader had a lot to learn ,but it should last a life time

KLN is right.

The priming system on the Pro 1000 is downright dangerous and there is no reasonable way to get a shield on it. There is no "feel" to seating primers and when one goes off, they all go off.

Only took once to make a believer out of me.
