The most Accurate powder I have tried has been R22 but, H4831 coming close behind. W/ R22 I can get 3100fps w/ 162grn Hdy BTSP and a 1" group @ 100yds. W/ H4831 my favorite has been 69 grns pushing a 140grn Nos. Bal. Tip (Vel.=3210) for a 2" group at 200yds. The Nos. Bal. tips are absolutely devastating on whitetails. The most one has ran has been 25 yds and that was a 240# bruiser. Most of the time they drop at impact.

I am planning on loading the 150 grn NBTs w/ the R22 @3200 fps. The 150s shoot @ about the same trajectory but, they carry a little more energy.

I've been shooting the hornady 162 gr SST with 71.5 grs of H1000. I get 3112 fps shooting over a chrony. Groups average .872 inches.

I loaded 7mm Mag for my father for 30+ years. He always liked 139 or 140 gr bullets in his 1963 700 ADL and he always wanted 68 gr IMR 4350 in anything from R-P brass to Norma brass and a Rem 9 1/2 primer. He used the gun, and most of the brass, for 39 years and was talking about going hunting the year he died, when he was 82.



Before you get too excited about the overload, it is the load published in Speer #7, before there was an H4350, and it worked just fine for all of those years.

Paul, your IMR 4350 load intrests me quite a bit as it proved to be one of the most accurate powders for me in other loads. Any idea what velocity it produced?
