Markhpb30-06 and 4831sc
Does anyone have any data for H4831SC for the 30-06 and 165gr BT (Nosler)?

pshooterMy 5th edition Sierra manual shows 50.7 for a start and 58.7 max using the Sierra SBT. My Nosler manuals didn't have any listings for H4831 or sc. As a matter of fact none of my Hogdon manuals listed data for 4831 with a 165. Kinda strange.
Hope this helps some and as always, start low and work up!

I developed a load for the 30-06 using 165's in H4831 that was in the upper 50's grain wise. Like it's stated above each gun is different and the new to work up load for each gun is critical.
From Steve's Pages:
H-4831 From 50.3 grains to 62.0 grains with one sixty five grain bullet

What ever happened with your 223 bullet seating adventure? you never followed up on the 223 sd revisited.

kreytenMarkHpb....
I think you will find your -06 will really like 4831SC..
I have had great accuracy with 59 grs of 4831sc and 165gr sierra GK hps...
As always...approach carefully...looking for pressure signs etc...
I used to shoot a load of 63gr IMR 4831 and 168gr macth kings...it was a max load..but it sure shot well.
Good luck!

StonecreekIt would be difficult, if not impossible, to get too much conventional H-4831 under a 165 grain bullet in an '06. The short cut version packs a little more densly, so you might be able to get enough in to run pressures toward the upper end of comfortable pressures. I load 60 grains of conventional H-4831 (all that will comfortably go in new brass) under 180 grain bullets for about 2760 fps in a 24" barrel. This load exhibits no pressure signs.

Markhpbthanx for all the info guys. I got some loads worked up today using 4831sc, and I am going to try the Creighton Audette Method to see if I can come up with something good. When I finallt get a chance to shoot I will try to post some pix of the results.
