Primer hardness scale
Hello all, I'm having a reloading frenzy weekend and am going to reload some FN 5.7-28 I know exactly that this may be the single most difficult round to reload with serious consequences for very small missteps. So, I'd like to use the hardest primers possible. I'm a fan of CCI from Small Pistol up to 50 BMG, but I'm willing to try new. These rounds will (initially) be fired from an AR 5.7 upper, then a PS90 and finally the pistol. Any help with what might be the hardest Small Rifle primers out there? I've seen the damage caused by the pistol firing out of battery. nasty. safety first.

As always, Many thanks in advance.

I think CCI s #41 5.56 military are about hardest you'll find. Wolf also makes a 223 "military" primer.

From another board...I can only confirm the American and Russian primers look about right. You could put Tula on the same line as Wolf.

"Hardest-Softest.

Magtech.
CCI.
PMC/Wolf.
Winchester.
Remington.
Fiocchi
Federal.

These are small pistol primers."

Have shot both the wolf 223 military and the CCI #41. These applications are what they are made for.
