I had made some improvements to the rifle rest from the last time I shot. It is from cabellas and had real small feet on it which caused a wobble. I cut three pieces of 1" thick x 2" wide x 6 inchs long off of a carbon fiber axle from an ultrlite aircraft. Then drilled and tapped so the legs screwed into it. Put on some lock nuts. Man this really made a differance! Wobble was nothing. Also put a rubber groment off an old shock on the heigth adjusting screw.
Some the shots were off because of the wind. Need to work on the flyers. But have a few to work up now! good shooting

Ol` JoeSounds like a good day. I`ve always had good luck with the 120 Nosler BT & Sierra MK over H4350 in my 260s (a Kimber and older M700)
Try R19 with the 129 gr Hornady SP. I haven`t found a load the guns like with the SST model of this bullet so just use the regular SP, I think you`ll be suprised.

sierra2My newest .260 is making me wonder if I will ever need to reload for it. Right out of the box it put 5 rounds of Remington 140 grain Core Lokts inside 0.75 inches at 100 yards. I was dumbfounded. Then it did it again with 3 rounds of Federal 120 grainers. This was the easiest new rifle shoot in I have ever had!!! Note, the rifle is a Remington M-7 (MS) Custom Shop Mannlicher with the laminated stock.

Sounds like you might not have to reload. I tried both 100 grain and 140 and mine shot real bad. But will keep working on a load. It is there just need to keep on working. And this is a Ruger MK 77 mark 2 SS which a bunch say will never be accruate, but one day the load will come around. Got some good info for it Yesterday. Good shooting!

Blob,
I've been hoping someone else would ask this so I wouldn't have to expose my ignorance... What does this (-Winchester. 2 shots .500 and 1"-) mean? Two, two-shot groups?

Thomas JonesBlob !
Theres every chance your ruger will shoot !
My ultra light 77Mk2 does prety well !
You must take this to hart as i have seen it in many a rifle !
Play with the tennsion of the screws on your
stock. The Ruger anglw screw is real important.
It makes a huge difference !!!

Those boys who say it will never be accurate... do they own or have owned any???/
I have two of them and both are tack drivers....
You just need to hang out with a better class of guys if they don't think that Ruger can be made to shoot....
Have you tried having a gunsmith grind down the trigger some? ( since it is not adjustable) on both of mine.. I grinded the trigger inside down until the pull was much lighter....
Judging from your fliers listed on your range results, I would suggest that or replace the trigger for a Dayton Traister or a Timney....
Neither one of mine are that picky for good results....
cheers
