<Cobalt>9.3x64 Brass in Germany??
Old Wester Scrounger is not going to order RWS brass until the summer. My daughter's boyfriend's Dad is an F-16 Wing Commander in Germany. How difficult would it be for him to locate and send to me 4 boxes of 9.3x64 RWS brass? Is this caliber relatively popular with European hunters?
Thanks, Cobalt

BER007Cobalt,
9.3X64 are not so popular in Europe compare to 9.3X74R and 9.3X63. I don't know where is located your daughter's boyfriend's Dad. I know I big dealer in South Est Germany (Mnchen area), he supplies me for all big bore cartridges from RWS and he got good prices on these products.
Visit his website and ask him by his e-mail what do you want. If you agree with price ask for an invoice. And the rest is up to you. He can delivery all by air mail. I have received one months ago from him 20 cartridges RWS in .375 H&H without problems.
His website :http://www.shooting-center.de/
his name : Stefan Bader
e-mail (direct) :stefan.bader454@web.de
Hope this can help you.

<Cobalt>Ber007, Thanks for the reply. I do not speak German. Does Stephan speak English? It seems most Europeans speak at least two languages. That is most admirable. Unfortunately, most Americans are limited to English only, myself being one of them.
Thanks again, Cobalt

<redleg155>Check out Frrankonia in Wurzburg. They have a real nice gun room too. A high-end store. They did not have the 9.3x64 brass when I was there, but one of the English speaking folks in the gun room there got 5 boxes of new brass for me withing a couple of weeks. I did a quick search for "Frankonia" and could not come up with anything, but any sporting fellow in Germany will know right where it's at.
RWS only makes about 5-10k of 9.3x64 brass for both loaded rounds and component brass each year.

www.kettner.de. You can write in English. I have bought some RWS cases for my drilling there. They are OK to deal with but not amazingly fast.

I checked with a company here in Norway called Parabellum a couple of weeks ago, and they had 9,3x64 brass from RWS in stock.
Here in Norway this caliber is not wery common. Most hunters here use .308win, 30-06, 6,5x55 or 93x62, the only reason why I wanted a rifle in that caliber was that I would have something out of the ordinary, at least here in Norway. And as far as I can tell, it's a very fine caliber used on moose.

<Cobalt>Magnarps,
Thanks for the reply. I would be most appreciative if you could check on 9.3x64 brass inventory, cost delivered to Florida, USA and preferred method of payment. I should need three boxes.
Thanks,
Cobalt

<magnarps>Hello Cobalt.
Just off the phone with "Parabellum". First the good news; They had a lot of them in stock. They come in boxes of 20.
But... It was not that easy for them to ship them abroad. They had to have an export license to do so. But he could try to make it happen.
They are in my opinion quite expensive. I pay 231 Norwegian kroner, that equals to $ 26, for 20 pcs.

<Cobalt>Max,
Thanks for the reply. Is that time, 3pm-8pm, eastern standard USA or Munich time? Is there any difficulty in shipping brass to the States? Cobalt
24 January 2002, 22:43
<Hunting Max>Hi Cobalt,
sorry, I forgot about the time zones. The times I mentioned are Munich time, we are 6 hours ahead of Eastern Standard.
So Johannsen has open from 2am to 12 am Eastern Standard and Breiter has open from 9am to 2pm Eastern standard. No, there should be no problem in shipping brass to the US, because for brass and bullets no export permission is necessary.

<Cobalt>Max,
Just spoke with Wolf. He is fax'ing me an invoice and can ship UPS. He deals with a firm called Midway here in the States, so he is very familiar with shipping here. He was curious as to where I got his name. I told him your name is Max and you lived in Munich, but that was all I knew. Thanks again, Cobalt

<Hunting Max>Hi Cobalt,
so you deal with Wolf? I think thats a good choice, I like his business. Next time tell him, that you got his name from a friend of "Mister Weatherby", then he will know.
Im glad, that I could help you with your probs.
