Removing blemishes from bullets

Removing blemishes from bullets
I am wondering if there is an easy way remove blemishes from bullets. I have some Remington bullets which are badly blemished and covered with dark spots.

Run them through your tumbler (if you have one, that is). That usually does the trick - I have even removed (most of) the coating from Failsafe bullets that way. Try a couple of bullets first, experiment with how long you need to tumble, take a peek every couple of hours.

I had to chuckle after reading your post. I remember some TV commercials for a cream to remove those "horrid age spots".
I'm shooting some ammo made in Germany in 1938-39, it's got the various tarnish spots, but no corrosion. I've got several boxes of 405 grain Remington and Winchester bullets that I had purchased back in the 70s, that have tarnish spots from me having handled them many years ago.
I guess I'm a slob, never crossed my mind to polish bullets. But then as a cadet I never saw much use in polishing buttons either.

Unless the tarnish has turned to that nasty green crusty stuff, don't worry about it. The rifle's barrel won't care, neither will the animal. If you're looking to impress your shooting buddies, then that's a different matter.
