new to reloading
I have decided to take the leap and start reloading. I have done some light reading and realized I need help before I start spending money in the wrong direction. I am tired of running to the store every weekend my son and I shoot to buy ammo. I am willing to spend money to get set up proper. I intend to load multiple rounds in various amounts.
45acp,357 mag, 5.56, 308/7.62 and 12 gauge in stockpile quantities for regular shooting . 7 rem mag in hunting quantities I have a little time to research before returning from overseas and would like to gather as much knowledge as I can.
Who makes the best equipment and what do I need? Where are the best sources to learn the craft.
Thanks,
EWD

Go to your favorite Sporting Goods store that sells reloading gear and buy two or three different reloading manuals. I would suggest Hornady and Nosler as starters.

The on to the equipment:
RCBS Rock Chucker, or Forster Co-Ax is you can afford $250
RCBS Hand priming tool
RCBS or Hornady trimmer kit
Any reasonably priced powder measure
RCBS beam balance scale or anything similar
Lube pad
Funnel
Case deburring tool
Dies and shell holders of your choice - RCBS, Redding, or Hornady

There are many different presses on the market and most will fit your needs. Try to find a store that has different brands so you can see what you want.

Shotgun shells will need a different press so I'll defer from offering advice in that area as I quit reloading for them.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

Forster and Redding make some of the better equipment, especially presses and dies. For the calibers listed, a smaller press may be preferable. If you do a lot of reloading, the RCBS ChargeMaster Combo should be considered.
