No rattle snakes no kilt chronos at the range Part 1
beer .223, 45gr.HP. bulk, LC04 cases, WSR primers, OAL=2.118"
  • 5.4gr.Hi Skor 700X, 1480 to 1752 fps. 4 shot 2" group at 50 yds.Dirty!
  • 6gr. SR7625, 1602 to 1775 fps., cool barrel, mild, 1" group at 50 yds.
  • 6.8gr. SR7625, 1902 to 1936 fps., 2" group at 50yds.mild, clean.
  • 7.6gr. SR7625, 2040 to 2077 fps. mild, 4 shot 1/2" group at 50 yds.
  • 8.2 gr. SR7625, 2140 to 2178 fps. mild, no recoil, clean, 4 shot 1/2" group at 50 yds.
    [/LIST]This 45gr. bullet has never produced real accuracy in any rifle we've used.

    .223, 10gr. Blue Dot, Win cases, wsr primers.
  • 55gr. Varmint Nite Mare bullet.crimped ,mild clean, 2222 to 2310 fps., 5 shot 1/4" at 50 yds. 3 shot 1 1/2" at 200 yds.
  • 52gr. FBHP. Berger, oal=2.315", 2321 to 2390 fps., 3 shot 1/2" group at 50 yds. 3 shot 1" group at 200 yds.

    .308, FC. match cases, WLR primers, 150gr Berrey plated bullet, oal=2.631"
  • 14gr. SR7625,mild, no kick a little soot., 1604 to 1663 fps. 6 shot 3/4" group at 50 yds.
  • 17gr Accurate #9, 1664 to 1720 fps., some soot , 3 shot 1/4" group at 50 yds.
  • 15.9gr. Blue Dot, 1732 to1831 fps. OK Roll Eyes
  • 13.5 gr. Unique, 1573 to 1686 fps.great, 8shot 3/4" group at 50 yds.
  • 17gr. RL7, dirty 1435 to 1493 fps. 7 shot 3/4" group.

    110gr.RNSP Rem.,RP case, #34 primer, 23.5gr 2400, oal=2.447", mild, some soot, 2337 to 2367 fps. 7 shot 1" group at 50 yds.

    Some yahoo was actually deriding the 308Win on one of the Boards. And here you have it cutting 1/2" 5-shot groups - imagine that! clap

    • Very nice! I was considering trying some reduced loads in my .308. With the Blue Dot, what kind of accuracy were you getting?

    149gr.psp., bulk bullets (selected by weight)23.4gr. Blue Dot, avg. velocity=2275 fps., 4 shot 3/8" group at 50 yds. 10 shots you could easily cover with a quarter., primer a little flat, Adams Bennet barrel unbedded in Mauser Mil. stock. That's right at 30-30 performance but with a pointed bullet.

    I find ,like any other powder, accuracy will fluxuate with combination of components and load. Also be aware that a 1/2gr. change in your load with Blue Dot has a greater affect than if you made a 1/2gr. change useing one of the 4831s and the sweet spot my be a little more illusive. beerroger
