ELKMAN2I have great results with H4350, I was just PD shooting with my 300 today, 110VMAX, very accurate. I shoot 180 TSX and clover leaf the holes

Mighty PeaceI voted for RL22 right now, b/c thats all I tried so far with 180gr Accubonds & TSX-great results. Some day I would like to try some Retumbo as this works sweet in my 270WSM

scr83jpI've been reloading for about 35 yrs and my favorite powder is IMR 4831 in my Sako 300wm using a Sierra Game King 180gr bullet. I killed a huge mule deer doe at over 600 yards in Colorado, when we brought her to the packing house she hung with the 6x & 7x muley bucks.

iwzbeemanActually, I've never shot a 180gr bullet thru my .300. I have only used 200's. I shoot 180's in my 30-06. But I use IMR4350 in both of them.

Ackley Improved UserBest powder I've found for the 300 WM with 180 gr. bullets is Re25 - 83 grs should yield ~3250 fps with a 26" barrel. Retumbo and MRP-2 are also good powders producing equivalent results, but likely you'll need 3 to 4 more grs. of powder. I wouldn't exceed 3300 fps, if you're using a 26" barrel, 3250 fps with a 24" barrel. Happy hunting and shooting, AIU

Lou270Despite some lot to lot consistency issues I've had with RL22 over the years, I still think it's tops for 180s in the .300 Win Mag. Like it for 200 gr bullets as well, but Ramshot Magnum has been my choice for the heavier bullets recently.
