Hammer,
Awesome setup you got there.

You do any experimenting with blackpowder cartridge?

BarstoolerHammer,
Great setup. I'm envious. Looks like the back side of Pike's Peak -- slightly west and south of Woodlawn Park!
Used to live in C. Springs -- and hope to return there soon.

Yeah, Not even a window on that side of the building (that I could see). I know its remote, private, fenced, marked and taped, but it still looks to be shooting into an open area with limited visibility. Nice setup though.

There
are windows on the shooting side. There are windows on all sides so as to see anyone approaching. There are open doors on both sides of the shooting room to completely see anyone approaching. There are safety mirrors just like in large warehouses so as to see around blind corners. There is a fence to prevent anyone from coming around a blind spot. The fence funnels any visitor to a front door which enters from 180 degrees from the shooting range. All invited visitors are given safety instruction before coming into the building or onto the range.
Nothing is 100%. But there has been some thought to the design.
Recommendations for improvement are welcomed.

The .44 WCF (aka .44-40) is an interesting cartridge. Were you using a rifle, a revolver, or both?
Ever get into Cowboy Action Shooting?

Is that a bushbuck on the end? The reason I ask is because if it is he's a hoss and a half. Do you have any more pictures of it?

Don't underestimate the work of the jeep driver.
She has to pull along side the target stands and ease along beside them so that each target can be marked and replaced without me having to get out of the jeep or stretch too much. Also must keep the power staple gun loaded. And she must drive so smoothly that no dust is kicked up or bump causes me to spill my drink.

44/40 in SAA only.
Have all my own targets for Cowboy Action Shooting and for mounted competition.
My brother shoots CAS and mounted in local meets.
My brother and I have visited the End of the Trail match. Bought a whole case of books from Mike Venturino while we were there a few years back.
Unfortunately don't have time anymore for anything that has a schedule set by someone else. Too much work.

Also, they have no feet and no footprint, rather they rest on the ends of 4 pieces of angle. Even some simple rubber pads on the bottoms would be a great improvement.
I still can't get over why anyone would need 3 Ammomasters in the same room. Crazy.

Picky-Picky-Picky! Give it up, Spence. Jealousy doesn't become you.Evidently you didn't sell him that stuff or you would have given him those angled rubber channels.

Guess am going to have to go buy some rubber angle channels in order to keep everyone happy.
Problem is that am too lazy to unload all the stuff on the table, round up the folks to help lift them, then insert the rubber do-dads. Might be easier to bring in a crane to lift them.
Could this wait 'til summer ?

Dillon doesn't make a progressive loader for the Nitro Express cartridges or the 50 BMG.
Maybe someone else does.
So three RCBS Ammomasters serve as a semi-progressive loader for big cases.
Hello Hammer, very nice.
If you call Dillon, they have a shell plate conversion that was first built for the 50-70, but it will work for the 470NE(why I bought mine) and i'm assumeing other similar sized caseheads. When I bought mine, they didn't have the neck expanding powder measure thingy for the 470, but they might now. If not, one could be made on a lathe.
I recently replaced my green press with a Lee Clasic Cast. It seems to have pleanty of space for the 470 NE and pleanty of leverage.
A man should be able to do what he wants to what degree he wants as long as the other obligations are taken care of.
Some people think I'm abit off for haveing a CNC lathe and mill in the garage.
I like it, and that's enough.

To save time and postage, setup direct bank deposits or wire transfers.
Also, charitable gifts in the form of brass, barrels, shellplates, toolheads, and molds are accepted. Also, need folks to donate time to keep the Dillon brass hoppers refilled.
