DeansNeed a load for 7MM 162gr
I have a 7MMRM and need a load using 162gr
Hornady BTSP. What works well for you? If my rifle
shoots this bullet well it will be a g.p. load,
deer, hog, etc.
Thanks Dean

MACMine seems to really like 59.8 gr of IMR 4831 over a Federal 215 primer. Not the hottest load, but very accurate. I've taken over a dozen elk, probably half again that many deer and quite a few heads of African game with this load.

<Dale>I use 73.0/H-1000, Fed. 215 primer, and Win. brass in my Rem. 700. This was below what Hodgden's recommended maximum when they came out with the powder, but they have since reduced it to 70.0 grs. 73.0 seems safe in my rifle, and the brass lasts well. I have also noticed a fair amount of variation from one lot of H-1000 to the next. Just start low and work up. This bullet works well on deer and antelope, but I prefer the 160 gr. Nosler partion with 71.5/H-1000 for elk.

Alaska Bush ManIn my 7mm Colt my favorite load is 61.0 of IMR 4350 with 160 or 162 grain bullets and Fed 215GM primers in Fed Nickle Cases, COL 3.29" and vel 2900 FPS, excellent accuracy.

Bob257My Browning A bolt likes 66.5 grains of H4831, Winchester brass, and Federal 215M's. It shoots under an inch (4 shots) at 100 yards and has a chronographed velocity of 3000 fps. Great load.
