MThuntrRamshot Hunter
Well Once upon a time, Ramshot hunter was my favorite powder for my 300WSM. It burnt clean and delivered a relatively fast bullet to the target.
Last night when I went to my local supplier. "We're out and it could be over a month before we get more," was the response I got. So I went to Big R, they usually have what I want. "We don't carry that brand."
What am I getting to you ask. My attempt to continually utilize an uncommon powder (not the go to powder for many) has failed me. Back to XMR-4350 I go!! I should have never left the popular formulation.

pdhntr1MT,
I used to shoot alot of XMR4350, as it was much cheaper than IMR. Everything was going along just fine until I got the last 8 lb container. It has a burning rate that duplicates 4831 to the grain. Certainly not a problem for your use. But it really screwed me up for awhile.
Have you noticed this?

Larry EI don't know which Big R you went to that didn't carry Ramshot powders. Big R West in Billings carries them (or at least did the last time I was in there), and usually has a pretty good stock on hand.
If you're farther east Red Rock in Miles City carries Ramshot powders as well.
