300 Savage
What is the maximum pressure to work on .300 Savage.
Thanks in advance

StonecreekDepends on the gun it's chambered in.
With a Remington 722, there's no reason not to load it to the same pressures as a .308, .243, or any other similar "high intensity" cartridge.
On the other hand, I try to keep my loads for an '30's model Savage 99 down to around 45,000 CUP or so. That said, the Savage 99 was chambered for .308 and .284 (higher SAAMI pressure still) in later years, and I know of no problem ever reported with those cartridges in the 99. Of course the 99's from that era may likely have had stronger steel, which is why I like to keep pressures in a 70 year-old gun more moderate.

I intent to use an Mauser 96(two bolt lugs) action for. What your opinion?
Thanks in advance.
